Maria Burril Food, Group Sales and Catering When Maria and Matthew got married, they made an agreement that Matthew would clean the kitchen if she would cook the meal. After almost 25 years, Maria has gotten a lot better at cooking than Matthew has cleaning. Since graduating from Appalachian State University with a Home Economics degree, Maria has entertained friends and guests from all over the world. And after two years of research on barbecue, she has it right. All of our meats are seasoned with Maria’s own recipes, and cooked to her specifications. Maria has a very large catalog of recipes, and is constantly trying new things… Everything thing from the sauces to the greens to the best banana pudding you’ll ever eat has been developed and tested by Maria and her staff for the most local feel good food experience in Asheville.
